Internet provider Fidium is expanding its fiber broadband network in York County, bringing next-generation connectivity to thousands of homes and businesses. Construction is set to begin June 15 to bring symmetrical multi-gig speed access to Wells, Ogunquit and Kennebunk, and expand availability in York. The expansion will triple fiber availability in York County, with the goal of reaching more than 37,000 homes and businesses by the end of the year.
Brewer city officials celebrated their new ‘Gig Town’ status, meaning businesses and residents will have another option for fast internet. During their monthly ‘Coffee with the Mayor’ event, officials gathered in City Hall for a ribbon-cutting and welcome to Fidium Fiber. More than 6,800 homes and businesses will now have access to multi-gig internet speed from Fidium.
