Fidium set to complete southern Vermont fiber expansion

Access to Vermont’s best and most extensive fiber network will reach 47,000-plus Bennington and Windham county locations, bringing future-ready connectivity and enhanced economic opportunities

READSBORO, Vt. — Nov. 3, 2025 — Fidium is set to complete its multi-gig fiber expansion to more than 4,500 homes and businesses in southern Vermont. All-fiber internet is now available in Readsboro and Wardsboro, with service access coming next to the Halifax, Jacksonville, and Whitingham-area later this month.

With fiber access now live in Readsboro, Fidium has reached over 24,000 homes and businesses in Bennington County – driven in large part by its partnership with the Southern Vermont Communications Union District, which has helped accelerate broadband expansion in underserved communities. With the addition of more Windham County communities as well, Fidium’s total southern Vermont footprint will now span more than 47,000 locations.

Unlike cable or DSL internet technologies, Fidium delivers symmetrical upload and download speeds up to 2 Gig (2000 Mbps) over a 100 percent fiber network that is now available in Arlington, Bellows Falls, Bennington, Brattleboro, Dorset, Manchester, Pownal, Rupert, South Londonderry, Stratton, Wardsboro, West Dover, Wilmington and more communities across Vermont.
