Hancock celebrates newly completed all-fiber network, gigabit future with Fidium
HANCOCK, N.H. - Aug. 15, 2024 - Community members and local leaders celebrated the completion the all-fiber network in Hancock, and the town's new status as a Gig Town during the Hancock Farmer's Market.
Gig Town designations are presented to communities with broad access to multi-gigabit fiber internet for residents and businesses, which connects communities to wide ranging benefits - economic, educational, employment, entertainment and more - that accompany better internet access.
The celebration will included remarks by community leaders, including the Hancock Telecommunications Committee, as well as Fidium and the Greater Monadnock Collaborative. Following the certificate presentation and ribbon cutting, Fidium representatives will be on hand as a part of the Farmer's Market to share more about the life-changing power of fiber internet.
With ubiquitous access to Fidium's all fiber network, Hancock is celebrating a new world of opportunities available to residents, including year-round employment opportunities. Research shows that better internet increases home values, drives business innovations, allows growing businesses to stay in the community, and expands employment opportunities for the growing remote workforce. Fidium sales teams will be knocking on doors in local neighborhoods to let residents know that fiber service is available.
