Fidium to begin installing all-fiber network in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - Fidium will begin construction this month on its all-fiber internet network in St. Johnsbury.

The plan is to connect more than 5,000 homes and businesses there.

They will join the more than 466,000 buildings in New Hampshire and Vermont connected through fiber optic technology.

In addition to better internet access, Fidium says the service provides improved educational outcomes, reduced health care costs and other economic opportunities.

Construction is expected to start around mid-August.
