Orland, Bucksport internet expansion completed

ORLAND — Fidium has expanded its multigig, symmetrical speed internet service to Orland and Bucksport, bringing its fiber network to more than 2,400 homes and businesses, the company announced Aug. 22.

Orland celebrated the completion of the network at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 12 with representatives of the Maine Connectivity Authority and Fidium on hand.

“I want to extend the town of Orland’s sincere appreciation to Fidium for bringing its fiber network to our community,” said Cliff Guthrie of the Orland Select Board. “Residents consistently report quick, easy installations tailored to individual needs.”
